I love all things Gwen Stefani (I kind of want to be her when I grow up), so naturally I’m a big fan of all her fashion lines. You can imagine how excited I got when I found out she was not only making a more budget kiddie line, but that it would be exclusively sold at Target stores! Sure, I don’t have any children just yet, but it’s not too early to start collecting swag, right? OK, so that might be a little crazy, but this girl right here does not care. I just may try to squeeze into that perfect little tutu skirt! {God help me if I have a daughter.} Let’s just hope it doesn’t result in another Missoni debacle.
Summer Finds
So back a couple of weeks ago, I posted about some summer essentials that I was hoping to find while in Chicago shopping at H&M. Unfortunately, I was surprised to see that they didn’t have too many summery options (where were their shorts? fun beach hats?), I was able to score a couple. And since I promised to share with all of you upon my return, here are my recent additions to my summer wardrobe:
I found a fun and flirty bikini at…Target! I loved the color combo and the ruffles! I had been searching for an affordable ruffled bikini ever since first setting eyes on this beauty from Asos. Happy to report that it is officially my birthday bikini – 30 doesn’t look so bad in this little number!
Squeeworthy: Fun Finds @ Target
Like any good bargain shopper, I love me some Target (or Tar-jay)!
I especially love their new Marketplace – such a peaceful way to grocery shop…but I digress.
However, this time around I was surprised with some of the fun items I found all for less than $3.
No effin’ joke here.
Maleficent cereal bowl – $2.78
Oh yes, you know I had to grab this one! I don’t even know how I spotted it, but for all those Disney fans, they have a complete Disney villians collection. Online it shows this as part of a set of 6, but it was all by its lonesome at my local Target for that spectacular price. Rummage for your own!
Owl Buddies – $1.00
Yes, you read correctly. I was able to find this adorable duo in the famed Dollar Spot for a dollar each! I could hardly believe my eyes, so naturally a grabbed a pair for myself and another for my owl-obsessed buddy. Unfortunately, I just swung by Target again today (told you it was one of my favorites), and they were already gone. All Targets are different though, so give it a look-see just in case 😉
Paul Frank magnets – $1.38
I love that Target carries Paul Frank products, and not only for the kiddies. I’ve picked up thank you notes, napkins and now magnets for my refrigerator! How cute are they? I love how they compliment all our fun photo booth images I have wallpapering my kitchen appliances. P.S., who can you spot on my fridge?
Happy shopping!
{30 Days of Fashion}: Day 20
January 20th, 2011:
Sweater dress; TJ Maxx
Tights; Target
Brown pumps; ??
It is no longer Winter in Miami, but I am having a hard time letting go. Thankfully, my office is really frigid most of the time, so I can get away with wearing cold weather items even when if it is 80 degrees out. I’ve always loved tights, but my love affair has been kicked into high gear after checking out the We Love Colors blog. I had such a good time looking through everyone’s amazing tight-filled outfits. So much so, that I decided I was going to wear tights today, regardless of the weather!
I had really been pumping up the adorable $5 tights from Target (I’m wearing them in gray), but I was so upset when they ripped mid-day at work. They are brand-spanking new! Although I am upset over my loss, this only means I am just going to have to take the plunge and order some from We Love Colors! The problem? I wouldn’t know where to begin! They have so many options to choose from, although I am partial to these striped babies. Swoon!
{30 Days of Fashion}: Day 10
January 10th, 2011:
Dress; Target
Footless tights; Target
Flats; Target
Necklace; Skeleton key purchased on Etsy, put on an old chain
Didn’t realize I was rocking a head-to-toe Tarjay outfit today until I put together this post! Who says you can’t put together an amazing ensemble on a budget? Happy to be able to wear this dress again – the first time I wore it was sans tights and I felt like I was a little too old to be baring so much leg. Tights to the rescue! I paired it with my favorite flats (told you guys I wear them a lot) and a fun skeleton key necklace that I made on the fly that morning with an old chain and an Etsy purchase. Voila! Another cheery outfit for a not-so-cheery day. I had a pretty tedious day in the office and then got my butt handed to me on a silver platter by a new spinning instructor. Oof.
And for those of you wondering, the soundtrack to these photos was The White Stripes. Hotel Yorba to be exact. 😉
ps; Photos are now larger by request! See? I listen!
