What Summer Calls For

I really tried this time to let my hair grow after so many people requested. I did. And it happened. My hair is currently extremely long. And extremely thick. And it is currently extremely hot & humid down here in South Florida, so in turn, my hair is extremely hard to deal with and spends its life in a disheveled ponytail. Can someone please tell me what is the point of having long hair if it is always tucked away and such a ginormous pain in the behind? I don’t know how you Miami girls do it. This crap is not for me, so I am doing what I have wanted to do for months now and getting my hair cut!  However, apparently I am like Samson and need my hair for strength because I got so many disdainful looks by friends and family when I announced my decision, which got me thinking…Why do people believe women have to have long hair?

Does it represent our femininity? Youth?

And yes, my haircut inspiration is coming from the lovely Christina Ricci and her sweet short ‘do pictured above.

Happy Hump Day: Chris Pine

I don’t do blondes, but I wouldn’t mind spending some time with the newest Captain Kirk, Chris Pine. He found himself catapulted into the lime light with the huge sci-fi role last year and it’s pretty safe to say that his life will probably never be the same. Although you may remember him from The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement if you love Anne Hathaway as much as I do (heh). Mr. Pine also started quite the fangirl revolution with his obvious chemistry with hottie Vulcan, Zachary Quinto. Bring on the fandoms and the photo manipulations! One in particular, really got a lot of Internet air time: the Pinto. Some amazingly awesome person decided it would be a fabulous idea to morph both Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto’s facial features to create quite possibly the most glorious male specimen ever known. Weekend Highlights: MTV Movie Awards

We had a pretty busy weekend, but no photos to really document it, so instead I will dish about the 2010 MTV Movie Awards with you all on this fine Monday morning. Excellent.

– Kristen Stewart looked really pretty in her D&G dress, but she is still so painful to watch. Can someone up her dosage of Xanax?
– Yay for Sandra Bullock. She deserved all the praise. Totally love her. (& her hot shoes)
– Katy Perry & Russell Brand are such a cute couple.
– ScarJo & Ryan are never together at any awards shows. I am officially suspicious.
– Tom Cruise managed to erase years and years of bad press with one performance.
– I felt so terrible for poor Tom Felton during his acceptance speech – I still don’t really understand why Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell were hanging from wires.
– Speaking of Tom Felton, I literally got goosebumps during the Potter teaser.
– Hearts on vaginas. I hope this is not a new trend.
– Twilight won everything. Surprise?

& while on the pop culture tip, how excited are my fellow truebies about this Sunday’s season 3 premiere??

I’m back everyone!!! I’ve felt pretty detached from all things Internet since we started the move last weekend, but I’m happy to report that I am back in the saddle! We are completely head over heels over our new home, but it is a lot of work! I’ll make sure to post pictures next week of the progress we have made and will be sharing a lot of our ideas for the future. Also, make sure to keep your eyes peeled next week for another amazing fashion giveaway you are going to love! I honestly cannot control my insane happiness over the news that my favorite band in the world, The Smashing Pumpkins, will be playing an extremely intimate series of shows during the month of July. As if that wasn’t cool enough, one of their few stops is in Fort Lauderdale, specifically, at Revolution Live (one of my favorite venues)! Are you kidding me???? I’m pretty sure I just fangirled myself. Mr. Corgan is also hinting that special VIP access may be granted to some special fans including a private soundcheck! Unfortunately, the band has not released ticket prices or onsale dates, which has me extremely anxious. Must.have.tickets.now.
