1. Fuji Instax Camera

I’m usually not into loving fad-ish cameras, but this one really got suckered me good. Although Polaroid is back with a vengeance, I can’t help but love the Fuji Instax. It’s adorably cute and helps you capture the moment instantly in fun bite-sized photos that you can put anywhere. My favorite uses of these pictures? These adorable wall collages. Hello, lover! ;)

I never would have thought that I would be the one putting together our Valentine’s Day dinner, but lately I’ve learned to expect the unexpected! The hubs and I are pretty mellow people when it comes to Valentine’s Day. If you all remember, last year we spent the day at IKEA shopping and eating ice cream followed by a photoshoot. This year, we are planning on having a little picnic at a nearby park and then following it up that night with a romantic dinner for two at home.

Pretty Pink Things

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

By now I’m sure you all know how much I love the color pink. Aside from green, it is my most favorite color. Unfortunately, my husband does not always share my sentiment. However, we have recently made some fun pink purchases (aside from my kick ass cuckoo clock) that I felt like sharing with you here just because!

That’s right. A hot pink chef’s knife. The hubs wanted to reward my recent cooking stint by buying me a knife he knew I would be excited to use: a pink one. He stumbled on these colorful knives by Pure Komachi while browsing one of his favorite blogs, TheKitchn. Although I am light years away from being the next Bitchin Camero, fun tools definitely inspire to work harder. Who knows? Maybe I’ll blog about my next adventure in cooking 101. ;)

Also, excuse my workout gear. My workout face also came included with said outfit which is why I decided it was best to leave it out.

First off, I’d really like to express my gratitude for every one’s concern on Twitter when I mentioned that my baby girl, Gwen, had to have an emergency trip to the vet after she developed a cyst (what seemed like overnight) and then managed to pop it leaving a bloody, scary mess. The good news is that she is healthy and the cyst was not deemed malignant in any way, shape or form. Because I was worried that it developed because of her collar and her constant tugging and pulling while out on walks, I decided it would be best to get her a harness. I’m a big fan of Puppia harnesses, but am not always a fan of the prices. Luckily, I was able to find a similar style at Pet Supermarket over the weekend and it came in pink! I think she looks absolutely adorable and no longer chokes herself while being walked. I may be able to take her along to pet-friendly events now without fear of her hurting herself. Merry Christmas, Gwen!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Halloween weekend! I, for one, cannot contain my excitement. My costume is ready to go and I’ll be back Monday morning with a kick ass round up of our festivities. Have a great time everyone, but remember to be safe. I’ve put together some fun Halloween-themed items to share with you all!

For all of you who are planning to have a Halloween dinner party sometime this weekend, these adorable DIY placemats would definitely make a statement! One of my favorite designers, Eddie Ross, featured these cuties along with instructions on how to make your own on his blog. So strap on your craft hat and get to work, procrastinators! ;)

Weekend Highlights: Rock ‘n Roll Road Trip

friday13998960651_053134a94c

Friday afternoon we started our road trip to see Muse (& U2) play Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium with some of our closest friends. I couldn’t have been more excited – it was my first live Muse experience and although I wish it would have been a headlining show, I was happy just to be in their presence for their 8-song set. They were mind-blowing. Matt Bellamy, if you are out there, I wouldn’t mind having your tiny powerhouse British babies. The set list was as follows:

Uprising
Map of the Problematique
Supermassive Black Hole
Hysteria
Undisclosed Desires
Unnatural Selection
Starlight
Time is Running Out

It was just incredible how much energy and passion they brought to the set despite being openers. They really gave it all they had and although we were one of the only people standing, screaming and dancing in our section, I had to smile when I overheard a few people commenting how “unreal” their performance was while waiting to buy merchandise. They are my beautiful little secret, but it still feels good to know that soon they will get the exposure they deserve. There are rumors that they will be headlining their first American tour sometime in 2010 and I really hope they make it down to South Florida because I plan on being front and center. I can’t tell you what a freaking tease their short set was – I was not ready for it to be over.

And for those non-believers, here is video footage of Map of the Problematique. I filmed their entire set, but this was one of the most steady mostly because I wasn’t the one recording – Elsie was sweet enough to take over for a bit so I could be a total fangirl.

Oh yeah, U2 also played. They were OK I guess ;)
