I’m going to forgo my typical list format today, because nothing is more magical (to me) than a Bush show. And that’s how I spent my Cinco de Mayo, so you get an entire post about it! I know you’re excited. If you are not, feel free to mosey along.

Any of you that follow me on this blog surely know by now that Bush has been and continues to be one of my favorite bands. At times I am mocked for loving bands from my youth, but I can’t help it. I’m loyal. Once I loved you, I will always love you. Both a character flaw and strength, if you ask me.
I’ve been lucky enough (along with all the other members of the Bush Army) to foster an online relationship with the guys in the band over the last year, which has made my love for the band grow more. They are so down-to-Earth and very appreciative of their fans. I had a wonderful time a couple of weeks ago at Epicenter enjoying their first gig together as a unit in 8 years from atop the stage, which was a completely surreal experience, but I think this past week’s show at Tampa managed to supersede all that.
The always fabulous Gavin Rossdale just announced on his Twitter tonight that if he reaches 20,000 followers, he will gift one of them with a pair of VIP tickets to Epicenter Fest, where they will not only witness Bush’s first show back together since 2002, but do so from up-top the stage! Don’t know if you guys remember, but I had a dream last month where I was asked to come onstage during Bush’s first show. Premonition? I hope so! Good luck to everyone who enters and regardless, I will see you all at Epicenter in only a couple of weeks!

Wednesday marked a very important day in the state of California that will hopefully have a ripple effect on the rest of the country. A federal judge ruled that Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage, was unconstitutional and it was overturned. Being a fan of equal rights (um, who wouldn’t be?) and a firm supporter of gay rights, I could not be happier. In fact, I can’t believe that any sort of discrimination over whom you decide to love is still an issue in 2010 (or was ever an issue really). Congratulations, California!
